1. How does it work?
Evapolar air coolers’ work is based on the principle of evaporation.
First, the cartridge inside the cooler absorbs water from the reservoir and becomes wet. Then hot air gets in the cooler and passes through the wet cartridge, the water absorbs the heat to evaporate, and the outcoming air becomes cool and moist.
As a result, you get cool air, which feels like a nice breeze, and some vapor, which moisturizes the air. In addition, Evapolar air coolers filter out large dust particles from the air.
Please see this article to find out more: How do evaporative coolers work?
2. Can it cool down the entire room?
Due to the Evapolar working principle, the best cooling effect is felt when you are in front of the cooler, within 1-1,5 m distance from the device.
Evapolar coolers do not cool the entire room.
Please see this article to find out more: Evapolar optimal working conditions
3. Can it purify the air?
Evapolar cartridges are able to filter out large dust particles when they let air through them.
4. Can I control the temperature? What does the temperature depend on?
No, you cannot regulate the outgoing temperature, because it depends on the initial air humidity and temperature. In short: the hotter and drier the incoming air is, the bigger the temperature drop.
You can, however, regulate the airflow speed.
5. Сan I put ice in the water?
Yes, you can, but this won't make any difference, since the air is cooled by the evaporation of water from the filter surface, not by spraying cold drops.
6. Can I use Evapolar without water?
Yes, you can! However, in this case, it will work just like a regular fan.
7. Can I add aroma oils to the water?
No, we strongly do not recommend doing this: substances like oil will clog the pores of the filter material and reduce the device's cooling capacity. But we've come up with a decision for those who would like to feel a pleasant aroma while using Evapolar cooler: here is our evaAROMA ;)
8. Can I use it in a car?
As Evapolar coolers are extremely energy-efficient, they can be powered from a car power outlet with a capacity of at least 2A 5V.
Evapolar can be used during driving, but the water tank must be no more than three-quarters full to avoid water leaks in case of sudden jolts or sharp turns of the car. It should also be placed on a smooth horizontal surface.
9. Can I use it in a tent? Can it cool the entire tent?
Evapolar coolers can be used in tents, you just need to place it on a smooth, horizontal surface and connect it to a power bank. Evapolar can cool a small, one-person tent (in fact, still just a person itself), but in bigger tents, it will be able to cool only the person(s) positioned in front of it.
10. What about the noise level?
The noise level depends on the fan speed you've set. The normal noise level is 25-50 dB on an average fan speed. It is not louder than the cooling fan of your computer!
11. What makes Evapolar eco-friendly?
Evapolar consumes very little energy, doesn’t use freon and the pads inside the cartridges are made from basalt nanomembranes, which are able to decompose naturally.
