All Evapolar coolers work according to an evaporative principle.
Here is what happens after you fill the water tank:
✓ Within 5-10 minutes, the cartridge absorbs a huge amount of water. ✓ The built-in fan helps the cool air spread around the area up to 2 - 3 m² (22 - 33 ft²) around you. ✓ After the water absorbs lots of heat, it simply evaporates, transforming into cool water vapor. It prevents evaporative coolers from having any kind of heat emission. |
This process uses much less energy than other methods of refrigeration.
The cooling potential for evaporative cooling depends on the relative humidity in the room and on the initial temperature. Hotter and drier air leads to a bigger difference in the temperatures. On the table below you can see the relation between air humidity and the temperature drop*.
